OnePlus Watch 3 Battery Life
The OnePlus Watch series has seen significant improvements since its initial release, and the upcoming OnePlus Watch 3 is set to raise the bar even higher. Scheduled to launch in the U.S. and Europe on February 18, the Watch 3 features a refined design inspired by the Apple Watch and a standout battery life that surpasses other leading Android smartwatches.
Battery Life and Performance: The OnePlus Watch 3 offers an impressive battery life, capable of lasting up to 120 hours, or five full days, on a single charge. This is a notable increase from the 100-hour lifespan of its predecessor, the OnePlus Watch 2. In comparison, the Watch 3 outlasts the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra by three days and the Pixel Watch 3 by three and a half days. To achieve this extended battery life, users need to disable the always-on display. Additionally, by activating the smartwatch’s power saver mode, the Watch 3 can operate for up to 16 days continuously, according to reports from 9to5Google.

The secret to this remarkable longevity lies in its dual-chipset architecture: the Snapdragon W5 performance chip, carried over from the previous model, and a new BES2800 efficiency chipset. This combination allows the Watch 3 to manage tasks efficiently by alternating between the two chipsets, thus maximizing battery life. Celina Shi, OnePlus Europe’s chief marketing executive, explained to TechRadar, “Our software seamlessly switches operations between these two chipsets, enabling the OnePlus Watch 3 to run with maximum efficiency and strike the perfect balance between peak performance and extended battery life.”
Moreover, the Watch 3 features an increased battery capacity of 631mAH and incorporates the OnePlus Silicon NanoStack Battery, a technology also used in the OnePlus 13 smartphone. This innovation significantly enhances energy density, ensuring prolonged power availability.
Design and Navigation: The design of the OnePlus Watch 3 has been subtly updated, with the most notable addition being a functional rotating digital crown. This feature, similar to what has been seen in Apple Watches for nearly a decade, allows for additional control options alongside the touchscreen for scrolling and app selection. Although the OnePlus Watch 2 included a rotating crown, it lacked functionality and served more as a decorative element.
Responding to community feedback, OnePlus has revamped the crown’s functionality. As Shi elaborated, “With the ability to both press and rotate, the rotating crown makes navigating through apps and menus efficient and intuitive – enhancing the overall user experience.”
