The Blue Devils are once again the center of the college basketball universe, and if you have a heart condition, you might want to check in with your doctor before the next tip-off.
Here’s the latest from Durham (and Charlotte) as of March 13, 2026:
1. The Quarterfinal Nail-Biter
Duke just survived an absolute “Cardiac Crazies” moment in the ACC Quarterfinals, edging out Florida State 80–79. The Seminoles had a look at the buzzer that would have sent the #1 seed packing, but the rim was kind to the Blue Devils.
-
Isaiah Evans was the hero of the night, dropping a career-high 32 points and raining down seven triples.
-
Cameron Boozer did what he does best, putting up a quiet (for him) 23 points and 10 rebounds.
2. Boozer’s Trophy Case is Full
Speaking of Boozer, the freshman sensation was just named The Sporting News National Player of the Year. To recap his “not-so-average” freshman campaign:
-
ACC Player of the Year
-
ACC Rookie of the Year
-
Averaging a double-double (22.7 PPG / 10.2 RPG)
-
The highest-rated player in KenPom history
3. Injury Watch
It’s not all sunshine and rainbow-arcs, though. Duke is currently navigating some serious “foot fatigue.”
-
Caleb Foster is out indefinitely with a fractured right foot.
-
Patrick Ngongba II is sitting out the ACC Tournament with foot soreness. Jon Scheyer is leaning heavily on his bench, but when your “bench” includes the ACC Defensive Player of the Year (Maliq Brown), you’re usually in good hands.
What’s Next?
Duke (30-2) heads into the ACC Semifinals tonight (March 13) against Clemson.
The Tigers are always a physical matchup, and they’ll surely try to exploit Duke’s shortened rotation. If Evans stays hot from deep and Boozer continues his “best player on the planet” tour, the Blue Devils should be eyeing another ACC title on Saturday.
