Pan-Seared Sea Bass with Lemon Butter Sauce
This recipe focuses on getting a crispy skin while keeping the fish flaky and moist.
Ingredients:
-
2 Sea Bass fillets (about 6oz each)
-
2 tbsp Olive oil
-
3 tbsp Unsalted butter
-
2 cloves Garlic, minced
-
1 Lemon (half juiced, half sliced for garnish)
-
Fresh parsley, chopped
-
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
-
Prep the fish: Pat the sea bass fillets completely dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
-
Sear: Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot, place the fillets skin-side down. Press down lightly with a spatula for 30 seconds to ensure the skin stays flat.
-
Cook: Let the fish cook for 4-5 minutes without moving it, until the skin is golden and crispy.
-
Flip: Carefully flip the fillets and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
-
Baste: Reduce heat to medium. Add the butter, minced garlic, and lemon juice to the pan. Once the butter melts, spoon it over the fish for about 1 minute.
-
Serve: Remove from heat. Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices. Serve immediately.
